Dr. Dana Oswald wins 2021 Bonnie Wheeler Fellowship

On behalf of the Advisory Board, SMFS would like to congratulate Dr. Dana Oswald, recipient of the 2021 Bonnie Wheeler Fellowship!

Dana will use this award to complete her book manuscript on Old English Maternal Bodies, which examines the medical and legal Early English traditions to find the reproductive bodies of women in a corpus of literature that participates in the occlusions of such bodies and the lives of those in possession of them. To read more about Dana and her work, visit this webpage: http://bonniewheelerfund.org/past_winners.aspx

Dana will be mentored in the completion of this project by Dr. Monica Green, world-renowned expert in medieval women’s medical studies.

Congratulations, Dana! We can’t wait to read your book!

For those who would like to donate to the Bonnie Wheeler Fellowship, which supports women scholars caught between Associate and Full Professorship by awarding them financial and intellectual support for the completion of a book project to support their promotion to full professor, and to learn more about why this support matters, you can do so here: http://bonniewheelerfund.org/donate.aspx

This award is sponsored through the independent Dallas Foundation. SMFS is a proud supporter of the Dallas Foundation and of the Bonnie Wheeler Fellowship.

Warmly,
